Eating healthier foods and losing weight is what a lot of people are trying to do today. By choosing more organic foods you can accomplish both at the same time. Choosing organic foods in order to stay healthy and at the same time lose weight is a really smart thing to do, but there is obviously more to it than that.
Some people assume that additives such as pesticides, genetically modified foods and growth hormones are safe simply because they’re legal. Things are added to foods to make them last longer, but has anyone determined how harmful that is.
In some cases, such as with sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup, saccharine and aspartame, there’s quite a bit of evidence suggesting that these foods are not safe and can contribute to obesity as well as many illnesses. Many people drink diet soda because it has low-calories and no sugar, but many are now getting a lot of various health problems. If you are concerned about your health, you need to find foods that are natural and organic along with having calories that are low. A lot of packaged foods have been sold to people on diets who think that a protein shake is the best way to go. These are not natural foods, even though they appear to be and some may actually work. You’d be better off buying organic foods that you make from scratch, even though it is a little more effort. The fact is, whole foods are better for you than those that have been fortified with vitamins and other nutrients. Since meal replacement bars and shakes aren’t real food, that is why people are seldom satisfied by eating them. There are many good recipes that you can use to make delicious meals out of organic foods, that are good for your health.
There is plenty of evidence that you will gain weight when you have a diet of processed foods, especially if they have been sprayed with certain pesticides. People who are eating foods with certain chemicals are having their hormones thrown out of balance, most particularly their levels of estrogen. Estrogen is an important hormone for women, but when the levels of estrogen are too high for women or men, health problems can occur, especially the gaining of weight. It seems obvious anymore that eating the right foods can make us healthy, while the wrong foods, such as those causing high estrogen levels, can make us unhealthy. This is only one of the possible dangers of eating foods that have been sprayed with pesticides.
Becoming healthy is dependent on the food you eat, and organic food should now be included in that food. In many ways you will feel much better by eating natural foods that are nourishing, and you will also lose weight if you add physical activity. Get specific advice from a health practitioner on the foods you should be eating, but try to reduce the amount of non-organic food that you eat, and replace it with organic.
